Using wood carefully until the very end
At twig, we place great importance on not wasting a single piece of wood when making our products.
For example, leftover pieces of wood cut out during the manufacturing process are joined together to form a single board. This method not only makes full use of the material, but also makes the wood less likely to warp.
Furthermore, wood shavings are reused as cushioning material when shipping products, and small wood chips are compressed by machine and processed into granular pellets that are used as heating fuel in the winter.
What wood to use
Twig uses only domestically produced materials . The hinoki cypress used in its products has long been used in temples and shrines in Japan. Its scent evokes a sense of nostalgia and is calming to the soul.
Hinoki is a straight, honest tree that not only has beautiful grain but is also water-resistant, making it a material that combines practicality and beauty.
We believe that carefully selecting high-quality timber and purchasing it at a fair price will help protect Japan's forestry industry. We aim to create sustainable manufacturing that will continue into the future.
